Garden project update
The Garden Project was launched in July at IC'08 in UCLA. Almost $20,000. was raised in pledges at the initial meeting, and many have volunteered to share areas of expertise. Individuals are beginning to offer a wide range skills and services, and you are welcome and invited to offer yours.

A Garden Project Conference happened March 13th-16th, 2009 to do strategic planning for the project.
1. Administration, Governance, Financial Committee & Fundraising
This planning group made recommendations regarding governance and administration within the Garden. They considered such issues as the length of time the Garden Council, an interim administrative body, should be in place, and when and how a transition to a more permanent governing body should occur. They developed plans for dispute resolution and offered suggestions for creating financial sustainability in the Garden. The group created a strategic plan and drafted a business plan and blueprint for action. Although not binding, these plans will help to give direction and guidance to the Garden Councilors as they assume their new role.
